What is vaginal rejuvenation?

Vaginal rejuvenation refers to various cosmetic procedures that alter female genitalia to enhance appearance, improve function, and/or reduce pain, and may include cosmetic and surgical procedures such as vaginoplasty and labiaplasty.

What is vaginal IntimaLase?

Vaginal IntimaLase is a noninvasive, nonsurgical laser tool that helps tighten vaginal tissue to restore health and function. The innovative tool is equipped with a gentle, nonablative laser that heats your vaginal tissue and stimulates the production of collagen, which is the protein that can restore strength and elasticity to your vaginal tissue.

By stimulating the growth of new, healthier tissue, IntimaLase revitalizes your vaginal tissue to alleviate your symptoms and restore normal function.

Am I a good candidate for vaginal IntimaLase?

Your doctor at Southwest Family Medicine Associates determines if you’re a good candidate for vaginal revitalization with IntimaLase during a consultation. You may want to consider scheduling a consultation if you’re suffering from:

  • Vaginal laxity
  • Vaginal dryness or itching
  • Pain during intercourse
  • Decreased sexual pleasure
  • Mild stress urinary incontinence

These symptoms can affect women after childbirth or in the years leading up to menopause. Many women view these symptoms as an unfortunate consequence of these major life stages and simply live with them.

But you don’t have to suffer in silence. With treatments like IntimaLase, you can naturally improve vaginal health and function and get relief from your symptoms without the need for adding more medication to your daily regimen.

What happens during vaginal IntimaLase treatment?

Your vaginal IntimaLase treatments are performed at the office. During your session, your doctor uses the laser wand to gently heat your vaginal tissue and outer genitalia to get the desired results. Your treatment should take 30 minutes or less and you shouldn’t feel any discomfort.

You may experience some vaginal discharge for a few days following your session and it’s recommended that you refrain from vaginal intercourse for up to a week following your treatment. However, there’s no downtime needed after IntimaLase, and you can resume your usual activities following your session.

To get the vaginal tightness that many women report after their IntimaLase treatments, the team at Southwest Family Medicine Associates recommends two sessions with the laser wand.
