Treatment for chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes begins with key lifestyle changes, such as diet and exercise. Many doctors recommend that you get more exercise, but then you’re on your own to make it happen.
Getting more exercise sounds like a simple task, but the truth is that making any lifestyle change is challenging. Developing an exercise and fitness routine — and sticking with it — is much easier when your health care team is involved.
Southwest Family Medicine Associates is dedicated to supporting your hard work so you can achieve optimal health benefits from exercise. The health and wellness coordinator, Elizabeth Long, is available to design a customized exercise and fitness program. As a member of your primary health care team, she’s uniquely qualified to ensure that your exercise plan works for your health needs. Most insurance covers the exercise program at no cost to you — not even copay visits!
